Collective Member PHILCO was recently interviewed by Deep District, a blog that collects stories, interviews, and news on everything related to house, UK garage, bass, and future sounds happening in Washington D.C.
In his interview with Alex Ivey, PHILCO talks about his musical influences, having three residencies around D.C., and his recurring Disco Made Me Do It series.
Of course, he had great things to say about One Love Massive:
“Molly Ruland, a super nice lady who runs it, she wants to put DC on the map in terms of music and art – entertainment all together. Not many people in the city with that mentality, so I respect that…I shot her an email one day asked if One Love could do a feature on Disco Made Me Do It. With the Disco Made Me Do It series, our whole theory is trying to promote DC-based DJs and producers. She was more than happy to help out. They put it on their website, the promotion was brilliant, and a ton of people came through the series at the time because of it.”
Please go read the entire interview, it is insightful, thoughtful, and important. And as always, keep supporting local artists and do your part to help put our city’s talented artists on the map!
